Lodi, known by his government name as Louis Yero is a Human from the Space Age who eventually became the latest Emissary of The Nine, succeeding Xûr and Orin.

Biography

Born in Lodi, Wisconsin where his nickname "Lodi" came from, Louis Yero became a polyglot who would employ at the Department of External Observation, a United States agency tasked with investigating extraterrestrial anomalies throughout Earth and has an office based in Chicago, Illinois. At the time he began employing there, the DEO was investigating an unknown energy weapon linked to John F. Kennedy's assassination. During his time there, he met a colleague who was a mathematician working on Project Graviton, Dr. Nella Davis. After she was killed by a train sent forward in time by the Nine, Louis would answer a phone inside and was also pulled forward in time into the City Age following The Witness's death and the creation of the Echoes. He arrived on Kepler after Orin left her position as the Emissary of the Nine and would fall into the care of the AION Initiative, a scientific group in Kepler who once worked alongside the House of Exile before the latter began to worship a being known to them as "the Giver". He adopted his nickname upon meeting with the AION Initiative and began recording a series of messages, one of them being received from the Anomaly near Vesper Station on Europa's orbit by Astraea, the central AI aboard there. The Guardian, the Drifter, and Ikora Rey met Lodi as the Vanguard was investigating a singularity that is threatening the planetoid. He later began receiving strange visions and was in the process of becoming the next Emissary of the Nine under the guidance of Orin, who he met later on. When he later learned that the Nine can only send objects forwards in time and not backwards, as well as the Collapse, Lodi expressed his frustration at the decimation of human civilization nor exactly how far in the future he was. Lodi revealed to Ikora that he recognized her because she resembled his colleague during his time at the DEO. He was able to embrace his role as the Emissary when he learned that the Nine member III was killed by the Conductor by forcing it, a 4-dimensional being, into a 3-dimensional space and tasked the Guardian recovering an asset from Project Graviton, which was later found to be Graviton Spike.
